Producing, Project Management and Facilitation

Alongside our artistic work, SIDEQUEST offers producing, project management and facilitation across a range of contexts, supporting artists, organisations and partnerships to develop and deliver ambitious, socially engaged work.

Our producing practice is rooted in collaboration and clarity, working closely with partners to shape ideas, build teams and deliver projects that are both creatively ambitious and operationally robust.

This includes developing project plans, managing budgets and timelines, coordinating teams and supporting projects from early-stage development through to delivery and evaluation.

We have worked across programmes such as No More Nowt, supporting strategic development, delivery and reporting, as well as shaping place-based activity with partners and communities. This includes holding space for creative conversations, developing and delivering programme strands and supporting the growth of ideas into larger commissions and long-term activity.

Our work also includes the design and delivery of training and development programmes, such as the Borderlands training programme delivered in partnership with ARC Stockton, supporting artists and creatives to build skills, confidence and understanding across areas including co-creation, project management and inclusive practice.

We facilitate workshops, conversations and group processes that prioritise care, participation and shared ownership.

Whether working with artists, communities or cross-sector partners, we create environments where people feel able to contribute, reflect and shape the work together.

A big part of what we do is facilitation. We build spaces where people can think together properly, not just sit and listen. That might look like workshops, group sessions or something more informal, but it’s always about creating the right conditions for people to contribute. This thinking sat at the heart of the Borderlands Weekend of Dreaming. On paper, it was a conference, but in reality, it was a space for people to come together, share ideas, eat together and imagine what their places could be, without it feeling stiff.

We also work closely with organisations and artists as a support producer, including a previous collaboration with TeesDance across their programmes, including HOME. This included shaping and commissioning new work, producing and contributing to strategic planning, ensuring that creative ideas are supported by strong producing and clear direction.

Across all of this work, our role is to connect people, hold space and make things happen, bringing together the right mix of creativity, structure and care to deliver projects that have depth, relevance and lasting impact.
